I am so excited about this post because, if you’re reading this when it comes out, it’s the end of June. That means it’s the end of quarter two for 2024 and time to plan out our 90 day strategy. As intuitive but also strategic CEOs of our businesses, we’re gearing up to plan for quarter three.

The Importance of Planning Ahead

Some of you might wonder, why plan for the next three months? Planning ahead is crucial for making sure that you’re doing the things that get you closer to your goals and taking action on the right things. Setting a 90 day strategy doesn’t have to be confusing or overwhelming. It can be simple, fun, and intuitive. The key is to make it in a way that aligns with you and how you want to run your business.

Why I’m Sharing My Real-Time Planning Process

I have deliberately not planned out my quarter yet. I wanted to do it with you right now. By going through my process and thoughts in real time, you can see what it looks like and how it can be done.

Strategic Planning with the 90-Day Visibility Planner

I use a planner called the 90-Day Visibility Planner, created by my mentor Kylie Kelly. This planner works so well for my strategic planning that I adapt and mold it to fit my needs. If you’re interested, you can download it from Kylie Kelly’s website.

Breaking Down the Planning Process

Here’s the structure of my quarterly planning process:

  1. Important dates
  2. Exciting elements and potential obstacles
  3. Goals: What I want to do more and less of
  4. Setting quarterly goals
  5. How to achieve these goals
  6. Expected results

Past Quarter Review

Usually, I review the past three months while planning for the next quarter. I won’t cover this now to keep this blog post focused. If you’re interested in learning how to review a quarter, let me know in the comments!

My Focus Areas for the 90 Day Strategy

  1. Pinterest Strategy
    • Last year, I focused solely on Instagram, but it felt draining and time-consuming. I took a break from all social media to reassess my strategy.
    • Collaborations and bundles have been fantastic, but I need a new way to grow my audience.
    • Pinterest has intrigued me for months. It’s a great platform to promote my podcast and services more effectively.
    • I’m taking a Pinterest course to learn how to set everything up.
  2. Podcast Improvement
    • My aim is to refine my podcast content. I want each episode to be simple, actionable, and aligned with my business philosophy.
    • I’ll be focusing on creating powerful content that resonates with you.
  3. Mini Courses
    • I’m creating a set of mini courses, to be rolled out between quarter three and quarter four.
    • The courses will tackle foundational business elements such as creating a lead magnet sequence.
    • Mini courses provide actionable steps without overwhelming you with information, making them highly practical and digestible.

Month-by-Month Breakdown

  • Month 1: Pinterest
    • Why: I want to implement a new strategy quickly to avoid any gaps in growing my audience.
    • How: I’m turning my podcast episodes into blog posts and pinning them, using a Pinterest course to guide me.
    • Result: Increase my podcast downloads and gain 20 new email subscribers each week by the end of the quarter.
  • Month 2: Mini Courses
    • Why: I want to diversify my offers and provide valuable, digestible content to my audience.
    • How: I’m mapping out the courses, outlining resources, and preparing for a three-part launch through email, Instagram, and Pinterest.
    • Result: Launch the mini courses and enroll at least 10-20 new clients.
  • Month 3: Podcast Refinement
    • Why: I want my podcast content to be the best it can be.
    • How: I’ll analyze existing episodes for audience feedback and start crafting pitches for podcast guesting to extend my reach.
    • Result: Consistently provide strong podcast content and aim to guest on one podcast per month.

Final Thoughts

Strategic planning doesn’t have to be complex. By breaking it down and adding some intuition and joy into the process, you can create a 90 day strategy that aligns with your goals and business needs. I’m excited to roll out these strategies and see where they take me.
