  • How to Create a Positive Inner Voice

If you’ve ever felt like you’re constantly battling that little voice inside your head — the one that loves to remind you of all the reasons why you can’t do what you want to do, achieve what you want to achieve, just be the extraordinary person that you know you’re meant to be, this episode is for you. This is the “I’m not good enough,” “not worthy,” or “not special enough” spiel. Today is all about how to create a positive inner voice from your harshest critic. If you’re ready to ditch those limiting beliefs and step into your CEO energy, you are exactly in the right place.

    Understanding the Inner Critic

We all have that inner critic, right? That voice that seems to have a knack for popping up right when we’re about to make a big leap. Let’s dive deep into transforming that voice today. First of all, let’s get one thing straight: it is completely normal to have these thoughts. Every entrepreneur, no matter how successful, has faced them at one point or another. What you’re feeling is valid and it’s a universal part of the human experience. Your awareness of these thoughts is actually a huge step forward. So kudos to you. It’s like you’re saying, “Hey, I see you and I understand why you’re here, but maybe there’s a better way to protect me and help me grow.”

Tackling the Inner Critic with NLP

We’re going to do something different here and tackle that inner critic and create a positive inner voice with a very powerful NLP tool. Trust me here and go with it. Make sure to do this in a place where you feel safe, where you feel like you can close your eyes and have a moment to yourself. If you are watching children, at work, or driving, maybe pause this episode and come back to it when you have a moment to yourself. But if you are ready to try this little tool with me, let’s go into it.

how to create a positive inner voice

    Step-by-Step Guide

    1. Breathing Exercise:
      • Take a deep breath in through your nose, out through your mouth.
    2. Identify the Belief:
      • Identify the belief that’s been holding you back. It might be feeling not good enough, not worthy. Whatever it is for you, give this inner critic a name.
    3. Reflect on Its Origin:
      • It doesn’t matter if you remember, but if you do, think back to when you created this inner critic. What is its purpose today? This belief, as much as it’s a pain, is actually trying to protect you in its own twisted way.
    4. Assign a New Job:
      • Now, give this energy a totally new job. What job would you give it? If your inner critic is protecting you from embarrassment, you can give it the job of being your number one fan that fills you up with confidence and love.
    5. Rewire the Critic:
      • Say to yourself, silently if needed: “I thank you, honor you, and embrace you. You are no longer needed to hold me back from my goals. I can handle it from here. I would like you to support me, cheer me on, guide me, or whatever new job you’ve been given.”
    6. Make the Shift Physical:
      • Stand up if you can, and imagine drawing a line in front of you. This line represents the boundary between your old limiting belief and your new empowered mindset. When you’re ready, step over that line into your new reality where you are capable, worthy, and unstoppable. Feel the weight of those old beliefs left behind and the lightness of stepping into your truth.

    Celebrate Your Transformation

You’ve just made a powerful commitment to yourself. Think about what you’ve left behind. Reflect, sit with it, allow your body to embrace it, and really let it go.

    Final Thoughts

You’ve not only acknowledged that inner critic, but you’ve also taken tangible steps to transform it into an ally. How does that feel? How are you going to demonstrate your new commitment this week? Remember that this is a process and it’s okay to revisit and adjust as you grow. If you need to come back and do this rewiring tool again because a new inner critic is popping up or the old one hasn’t quite gotten its new job done, feel free to repeat this as many times as you need. • Trusting Your Intuition in Business: When to Go with Your Instinct

Trusting Your Intuition in Business Space

We all have that little voice inside us, nudging us to take a leap even when logic and external advice say otherwise. Have you ever relied on your intuition when making business decisions? That inner knowing, that gut feeling, can sometimes be your best ally, urging you to make choices that aren’t entirely rational but might be deeply aligned with your core values.

In a world obsessed with numbers, data, and logic, we often overlook the unquantifiable nudge from our instincts. Some of the most successful business leaders have made pivotal moves based on hunches. So, let’s explore why and how trusting your intuition in business plays a significant role in making powerful decisions.

    The Science Behind Intuition

Your gut has a brain of its own. Yes, really! Your intuition, inner knowing, or subconscious mind pulls from your past experiences in milliseconds. This quick recall helps your subconscious brain process information faster than your conscious mind, aiding rapid decision-making based on well-worn pathways in your brain. Your gut isn’t just woo-woo; it’s your brain’s background process summoning past experiences and emotions to make swift judgments. This capability is crucial in decision-making as it allows us to act intuitively, often guiding us towards choices aligned with our deeper values and long-term goals.

    Emotional Intelligence and Intuition

Your intuition is closely linked to emotional intelligence, which involves reading subtle cues and making decisions based on a mix of feelings and past interactions. Utilizing your emotional intelligence allows you to sense the right fit with a potential mentor, business partner, or collaborator. In negotiations, this blend of emotional insight and gut feeling can be incredibly advantageous.

    Evolutionary Origins of Intuition

Intuition is also a survival mechanism. It helps us make quick decisions in uncertain or dangerous situations, a trait honed over thousands of years. In business, this translates to identifying opportunities or risks without relying solely on data or logic. We can sense what might work or what might not, even if we can’t articulate why.

    A Real-World Example: Oprah Winfrey

Oprah Winfrey is a prime example of someone who trusted intuition in business to achieve massive success. From turning down countless offers to shutting down the highly successful “Oprah Winfrey Show” to focus on her own network, Oprah’s decisions often defied logic yet proved to be the right moves. Her gut feelings, aligned with her passion and joy, have guided her to become a beloved and incredibly successful figure.

Practical Tips to Harness Your Intuition

    1. Mindfulness and Meditation: Regularly practicing mindfulness or meditation can help quiet your mind’s noise and make it easier to hear your intuition. Even just one to two minutes a day of focused breathing can increase your sensitivity to your inner voice. Here’s some more tips on creating a mindfulness routine!
    2. Journaling: Write down your thoughts and feelings to clarify your instincts. Make it a habit to note your gut feelings about your business or life and revisit these notes to see how they panned out. If you’re not into journaling, use voice notes to record your thoughts.
    3. Understanding Yourself: The more you understand your unique way of being, the easier it is to tune into your intuition. Tools like human design and astrology charts can offer valuable insights into your decision-making processes and emotional responses.

    Final Thoughts

Your intuition is a powerful ally in your path to success. Ask yourself, when was the last time you listened to your gut on a business decision? How did it turn out? If you crave more of that intuitive insight, consider diving deeper into these practices. For additional resources, check out my Productivity Power-Up Checklist, designed to help you tune into your intuition, reduce overwhelm, and cut through the noise. Remember, your intuition is a formidable tool in making the best decisions for yourself and your business. Let’s start listening to it a bit more, shall we?

  • Stuck in Business? Unlock Growth with 9 Actionable Strategies

Discover Easy Steps to Get Un-Stuck in Business

Hey, fellow entrepreneur! Feeling like your business is stuck in first gear? It’s frustrating when you feel like you’ve been trying to do all the right things but something just isn’t working. And it can be common to start to believe that the problem is you, that maybe you’re just not cut out for this whole entrepreneurial rollercoaster. But before you get ahead of yourself and decide to let that little voice convince you that you can’t do it, let me share with you some simple strategies and tips to get things moving. Grab a seat, a notepad, and let’s get down to business!

    Getting Down to Business Stagnation:

If your business feels stuck, it’s time to assess your growth strategies. Try experimenting with your product or service offerings to reach new clients or even just give you some fresh creativity and inspiration. You can also explore partnerships or collaborations, networking with others in your industry is a great way to bring some fresh energy into your business and inspire new ideas. If you’ve been staying stagnant, then it’s time to innovate!

Navigating the Lack of Business Direction:

A directionless business is like a ship without a compass. But way too many entrepreneurs (especially small and start up online businesses) do not have a clear plan or strategy for their business. Without a plan, it can be very easy to start feeling stuck in business without any clear idea of how it’s all supposed to work together to move your business forward. The first step in clearing a lack of direction is to define your goals clearly and create a roadmap. Break down big objectives into smaller, manageable tasks and regularly reassess your business plan to stay on course. Direction is the key to progress.

    Facing Entrepreneurial Frustration:

Constantly asking yourself: why is my business not working? I get it, and it’s totally normal to feel like your business is just not growing fast enough. Maybe you have a plan in place, and have been working hard at implementing it. But the problem might lie somewhere else. One way to tackle that is by investing some time in market research to understand your customers better, identify their pain points and address them proactively. By really understanding and using your customer’s (or ideal audience if you’re just starting out) feedback, you can refine your products or services to make sure that they truly support their needs. A satisfied customer is your best promoter, and promotion leads to growth.

    Untangling Mindset Blocks:

Mindset matters most. I will die on this hill. Mindset is probably 80% of any business success. So when you’re feeling stuck in business, one of the first things I want you to do is look at your mindset and reflect on what it’s been feeling like for you lately. Allow yourself to notice any blocks, beliefs, assumptions that are coming up, acknowledge them and actively let them go so you can replace them with more positive thoughts. Practice this type of mindfulness to stay focused on your goals. A positive mindset attracts positive outcomes. It’s a game-changer.

woman kneeling on a round beige rug, her eyes are closed and her hands are on her lap, as if she is meditating.

    Breaking Free from Feeling Stuck:

Feeling stuck in business often results from doing the same things repeatedly. Consistency is great but not when it starts to suck the fun and joy out of your business. That’s when you know that it’s time to shake things up. Try experimenting with new marketing channels or strategies. Or embrace technology to streamline operations – there are some crazy AI software out there that will do some incredible things. You can attend industry events or workshops for fresh perspectives. When in doubt, don’t be afraid to change things up, experiment, and bring back the fun into your business.

    Tackling Confidence Issues in Business:

Low confidence affects decision-making, when we don’t believe we are worthy or capable we second guess ourselves, which can lead to indecision and keeping ourselves stuck. Boost yours by celebrating small wins. Continuously educate yourself in your industry to feel more knowledgeable. Seek feedback from happy clients to validate your expertise – a little external validation is not a bad thing when it reminds your mind that you are good at what you do. Release feelings of self-doubt and harness moments of total and complete confidence, I love EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique for this kind of work). And check out this post to learn more about How to Improve Self-Doubt & Built Unshakeable Confidence.

    Navigating Uncertainty in Business Strategy:

Clear strategy removes the uncertainty that you feel when you’re just “winging it”, hoping something will finally work. You cannot know what’s working and what’s not when you have no idea what you’re even doing, and have no data to refer back to. So take the time to create even a simple plan forward. And then regularly reassess it, and be ready to adapt to industry or market changes. Finally invest in technology for data-driven decision-making. One of my favourite (and free) platforms for all things organization, systems and strategies is Notion. You can create your own dashboard to track all your business metrics, projects, ideas, etc. And if you want to take it a step further, this Content & Business Panning Dashboard has everything you need prebuilt to get your business organized.

woman is sitting on a couch, in front of her is an open laptop and a mug on a coffee table. She is holding an open notebook and a pen seeming to write something down while looking at her laptop.

    Spotting and Fixing Business Gaps:

One of the key differentiators between good and great entrepreneurs? The great one are always asking themselves, what can I do better? Now I don’t mean get hypercritical with yourself, there’s a healthy balance between striving for self-improvement and beating yourself up for your lack of perfection. But identify gaps by conducting business and personal audits can help you evaluate your processes and see any gaps. You can also get customer/client feedback to understand their expectations. Addressing gaps enhances overall business performance. It’s about refining your business model continuously.

    Crushing Self-Limiting Beliefs in Entrepreneurship:

Self-limiting beliefs are the biggest roadblocks to success. You cannot get very far in business when you lack belief in yourself and your capabilities. So let’s challenge these beliefs by setting achievable goals. By breaking down big tasks into smaller, manageable steps, you’ll feel more confident in yourself and what you’re capable of taking on. Another way to tackle your limiting beliefs (or your Deepest Inner Critic) is by understanding what your critic is trying to keep your safe from, validating that and giving it another job (something related to your goal or completely different). By doing this you’re re-wiring your inner critic (and subconscious mind) to release those negative beliefs you held onto in the past. Continuous inner-work and self-learning builds confidence and dispels limiting beliefs.

    In a Nutshell:

Feeling stuck is an opportunity for reflection, understanding and growth. It’s an opportunity to look inward at yourself and your business and see what area needs a boost. Start by implementing these strategies to revitalize your business or download my free 5-Step Journey to Confidence & Authentic Success guide to boost your confidence and start creating an authentic business plan. Feeling unstuck is a clear sign that something in your business or life needs to change, so let’s turn those roadblocks into stepping stones on your path to real success.
